(edit) me dumb. Manu Bennet was Allanon in The Shannara Chronicles, not Ibris Elba!

(original) I know it’s not all your fault, and I know you CAN act... but after starring in the utter train wreck that was the Shannara TV adaptation (MTV? Really, Terry Brooks?), and now the very disappointing Dark Tower movie... Stawp. No more. Excuse me while I start rereading The Dark Tower novels to cleanse my pallette

Wait, was Elba in The Shannara Chronicles? I don’t remember that.

I’ve heard the movie is terrible as well. I loved the books, may have to re-read them soon. Remember when they redid the shining for TV? and Dune too? You just can’t go remake classics like that. The shinning was good as a movie because of Stanley Kubrec and Jack Nickelson.

Idris Elba would have improved the show because Bennet bugged the shit out of me.

Also, the teen drama was annoying. But the two lead girls are pretty damn hot, so I stuck with it.

It seems so weird to see FLCL, Stephen King, and Dune on the same shelf.

Agreed. Although in fairness I’m having a hard to thinking of who could do a good Allanon in Hollywood...

After the first few episodes I was honestly expecting the Reaper to have an 8 pack and be “misunderstood”

Dune.... Do you mean the movie? Or was there a TV series?

I think I’m spoiled by Game of Thrones. It wasn’t even one of my favorite book series and to be honest, of the show I’ve only watched the first season and a half but... Good god HBO really did it justice.

Sci-fi... sci-fi... sci-fi... sci-fi... sci-fi... ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BODYBUILDING.

What the hell, man.

You get all the stars for having FLCL, Feist and WOT in there.

They made a Dune tv series and it was awful. Another good series is the reimaged battle star galactica, great acting and story arcs. I think I watched all 6 seasons in about 6 months, many late nights.

Well, that’s worth getting ungreyed!

Have you hear of Glen Cook’s “The Dark Company?” one of my current favorites, although it’s pretty dark

I never read the books, so I can’t say who I thought should play him. I’m only an authority on Harry Potter. And I have many things to say about those damn movies...

Lol, I wouldn’t be surprised if something like that happens.

Huh, ‘fraid so. Strange.

From what I’ve seen Glen Cook has “The Black Company” books which are amazing... And then everything else he’s written which is pretty much all historical fiction war books. No Malazan yet, it’s been on my list for as long as I can remember haha

I def recommend them. It was funny setting Riftwar stuff on your shelf. They are some of the books I always talk about to friends and no one I know has read them lol
